Mahindra Powerol South Africa, the distributor of powerful and reliable diesel generators has moved into new premises in Brakpan Gauteng to satisfy increased local demand for the product.
“This move allows us to provide even better service to our countrywide network of dealers who are competing to supply ever increasing demand. Our production line assembles and tests up to 25 diesel generators a week to maintain our stock levels. The more extensive warehouse also facilitates speedy delivery of the genuine spare parts required by maintenance technicians in the field. This is part of our investment in helping to solve the power problems of South Africa.” said Neal Palmer MD of Mahindra Powerol South Africa.
Diesel generation as a source of reliable supply of backup power close to the point of load, has existed for over a century. It complements the advances in alternative energy generation in either grid-tied or island mode and is a reliable addition unaffected by weather conditions in smart-grid or micro-grid applications.
Neal Palmer continued: “The world has become power hungry, and this demand can only increase in the future. South Africa is not alone in the move from centralised power generation to more active grid distribution solutions and all forms of power generation have a part to play in ensuring growth into the future. “
The new facility was opened by Mr Sanjay Jain, Senior Vice President and Global Business Head at Mahindra and Mahindra, Pune, India.
